Ht 0 0. Town started brightly and shaded the 1st 20 mins. 2 cook efforts on target 1 blocked well by the keeper the other a simple save from a header. Bradford then controlled the rest of the half concentrating on there left attacking bignot. Town trying to pass but Bradford look very well organised.

2nd half was a bit more 50/50. Town again trying to pass from the back without creating too much. At this stage I feel we're a litle slow in the final 3rd with our passing. Bradfords 1st goal the right winger skinned hatton crossed for an easy tap in at the far post. 2nd goal came straight from a free kick bent round the wall from 20 yards. Hannah had a good chance in final minute that was saved by the on rushing keeper. Not too bad from town, I feel the game against Gainsborough will give us a better perspective of how this squad will perform this year.

I went to the game expecting a 5 or 6 goal drubbing. Town put a good show on both halves. I am liking that they are now passing the ball instead of punting it up field. If we carry on playing like this, then it will be an exciting season ahead

Can't understand why Connell was booed? Thought we played ok Bradford are a decent side and the difference in league and quality was understandably evident. Hatton I'm afraid just isn't good enough, can't understand why he was played in CM.

To be fair to Hatton, he was playing out of his normal position in both halves. I thought we gave a good account of ourselves. MOTM was Paddy, for me.

You're right about Hatton, but on the whole I think his lack of pace means that he's not particularly effective in a 433 system as a full back/wing back, something which has been evident in the past couple of games. IMHO Bignot was impressive but going forward we struggled to break bradford down with just one up front. I kept getting Thanoj and Paddy mixed up but one of them was pretty dire and the other I was impressed with.

I think the reason Hatton started out of his usual position was experimental, to see if we had options which is what pre season games are all about. Unfortunately for me at least it wasn't very successful. The only plus was he dropped back quite easily to his own position at full back when Bignot went forward. I have to be honest I am not a Hatton fan and unless the managers do convert him to another role, I think with having two attacking full backs now Bignot has signed, he will spend most of the season on the bench.

We didn't look too out of place against a good Bradford side so that was pleasing. We just struggled to create much against a well organised side. To be fair though, they didn't create a massive amount, it was a pretty dull game for most of it.
Good workout though.
